University of Yaounde I, Cameroon

The University of Yaounde is one of five State Universities available to Cameroon. It has five faculties including FMSB which was created in 1969. The Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (FMSB) has a cycle of general medicine, a cycle of health and medicine and biomedical sciences, a course of a cycle of Dentistry Pharmacy and a cycle specialization. The Faculty of Medicine has several departments: a Department of Morphological Sciences, department of physiological sciences, department of public health, microbiology, and surgical specialties, internal medicine, laboratory medicine, pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics. The FMSB offers doctoral degrees for medical and clinical scientists in several areas (surgery, paediatrics, laboratory medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology) and masters in Public Health. Furthermore, Phd cycle is under study. Medical students wishing to do a Masters or Ph.D. in basic sciences (eg biochemistry) may inscribe in Faculty of the University of Yaounde I.

The training program in general medicine (seven years) obeys the BMD system to obtain the license after three years, a Master after two and a doctorate in medicine after two years.

vinc Dr. Vincent Djientcheu. He is a professor and surgeon, with years of experience in medical teaching and active part of the medical programme at the University of Yaounde. He has been very active in participating in medical societies, being the secretary of the PanAfrican Association of Neurological Sciences. He has also participated in the RAFT Network of Telemedicine with the University of Geneve and other African partners. In this network he developed various activities related to teaching and telemedicine. He has published actively in the field of medicine, particularly neurosurgery.
TCHEMGUI NOUMSI Nathalie Flore, Medical Doctor (MD),recieved her doctorate in Medicine, from the Bamako Collège of Medicine in 2000. She received her Master in Management in HIV patients from the University of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) and University Paris VI in 2007. she has been Health Advisor in the field of HIV of General Secretary of OCEAC ( Organisation pour la Coordinantion des Endémies en Afrique Centrale) from 2004 to 2006. Currently Dr Noumsi work or as principal investigator , or researcher in many projects related to management and research of HIV/AIDS patients( DYANA, DYNAM- O …). She is also the vice coordonator of Day Hospital (Reference center for HAART and control the other centers. it is the center mother of all the other center in Cameroon. Besides, she is member of Cameroonian . Association of Medical Informatics (SOCIM) since 2011.
Zephirin Roland Alima is an engineer specialized in computer maintenance and network. He also fulfilled training on internet, informatics and health occupation (Paris). He has a competence in CISCO system. He is currently the chief of the informatics unit at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Alima is member of the Cameroonian Association of Medical Informatics (SOCIM) and has participated to all Cameroon Medical Informatics Days (2007, 2009, 2011).
NKO’O Amvene Samuel, Medical Doctor (MD, PhD). Professor of Radiology since 1994. He is Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (FMSB) of the University of Yaounde I. He his currently the head of the specialization program division at the FMSB. Also he is the Editor in Chief of the Official online journal of the FMSB: Health Sciences and Diseases. He is the president of the Library and the Telemedicine program at the FMSB since 2008. He has been vice dean of the FMSB in charged of accademique activities from 2009 to 2013. Professor Nko’o has a remarkable experience on Health education and research and also on IT tools. He is responsible of animation of the pedagogic unit of the FMSB. Besides he is consultant in distant learning and redaction of scientific projects.

BELLO FIGUIM, Medical Doctor (MD). He earned his Doctotate inMedecine in 2008 at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaounde I (Cameroon). He fulfilled also modules of Good Clinical Practice in 2012 (Certificat delivered by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine). Since 2010 Dr Bello fellow an internship of Neurosurgery at the Yaounde Central Hospital. He his Member of the Cameroonian Association of Medical Informatics (SOCIM) since the creation of this Society in 2007 and participated to organization of Cameroon Medical Informatics Days (2007, 2009, 2011). He is one of the keys persons who integrate and disseminate the activities of the Francophone Africa Network for Telemedecine (RAFT). Dr Bello is besides a member of the Patient Safety Committee of Yaounde Central (a program of WHO: African Partnership for Patients Safety).
